英语中，another, other,the other, one another, each other, one...after another, 应该怎么区别？
another:指另一个同一类型的人或事物：Rick's got another camera（里克又添置了一架相机）表示“另一个”的意思，指多个东西（或者不确定几个）中的另一个；也有“再....”的意思: I waited another few minutes（我又等了几分钟）。
other:指不同类的人或事物，通常后接可数名词复数形式，但有时也接不可数名词：Other boys were arriving now（其他男孩马上也要到了），There was certainly other evidence（当然还有其他证据）。
在谈及两个人或事物，并且已经说到其中一个，在说第二个时用the other或the other one：One daughter was a baby, the other a girl of twelve（一个女儿尚在襁褓中，另一个女儿12岁了）。
当说到几个人或事物，并且已经提到了其中一个或几个时，指剩下的通常用the others: Jack and the others paid no attention (杰克和其他人都没留意）。
指更多的同类人或事物时用others(=other+可数名词)：Some writers are better than others (有些作家比其同行要出色)。
other也可用在the, few, any和数字后面：the other side of the room (房间另一头)，I love my son, like any other mother (像其他任何一位母亲一样，我爱我的儿子），the Hogans and three other couples (霍根夫妇和其他3对夫妇)。

“the other”和“another”怎么区别呢？
为帮助理解，先提出另一个问题：“the apple” 和 “an apple”的区别是什么？这个问题很容易回答，the 表示一个特指的苹果，而 an 表示泛指。
同样的道理：
the other表示一个特指的“其它”对象。既然是表示特指，那下面这个例子是正确的吗？
There are three kids in the room. One is Red, the other is Jerry. （×）
不正确，因为除了Tom外还有两个小孩，读者无从知晓其中的哪一个小孩叫Jerry，这里就不能用the other来特指。
下面这个例子就是正确的：
He has a book in one hand, and a pen in the other.
因为人只有两只手，就不会存在指向不明确的情况。
another表示一个泛指的“其它”对象。把another拆开来，就是“an other”。就是我们上面说的，是泛指中的“另一个”。

each other 和 one another固定搭配。one another 和 each other 都作“互相”解。
许多语法书里说 one another 只可用在两个以上，如 The five boys help one another; each other 只可用在两个，如 The two boys help each other。但事实上这区别是不成立的，两种表达方式尽可通用。 实际应用中“each other”和“one another”的界限已经越来越模糊，两者常可以互换。
Friends should learn from one another [ each other ].
Two children are chasing each other [ one another ].
one another 的物主代词形式是 one another's，不是 one anothers'。但 one another's fathers，one another's faces 等表达方式里通常用 fathers 和 faces，很少用单数形式。
one another 不可用作主语，如不可说 We know what one another wants（×），该说 We know each what the other wants 或 Each of us knows what the other wants。假使一共有三个或三个以上的人，该说 We know each what the others want 或 Each of us knows what the others want。
Every one of them looked at one another and smiled. （×）
这个表达是错误的，该把 Every one 改作 All.

用最简单的话来总结：
other： 理解为other是形容词，“其他的，另外的”，other +复数名词（少数情况可以加不可数名词），比如"other students"就是“另外的学生们”。
others:  others = other +复数名词，others要理解成是代词，意思是“其余的人或东西”。Some students are......; others are......
the other (或者the other+N)： 两者中的另一个，比如两只手的另一只，路两边的另一边，两个苹果里的另一个，等。Two students are there. One is...... the other......
another： another = an +other, 因为other后面要加名词，an another+单数名词，就是当前情况下的“另一个的”，也可以加复数名词: another+复数名词，如：We walked for another two hours. 意思就是：多了另外一个“两个小时”。
another也可以是代词。
下面是another更详细的解释，牛津字典第一个最常用的解释：
1. one more; an extra thing or person 【当前情况下的“多一个，另一个”】
   又一；再一；另一(事物或人):
   Would you like another drink?    还想喝一杯吗？  【当前情况下，再多一杯】
   'Finished?' 'No, I've got another three questions to do.'  "做完了？" "没有,我还有三个问题要解答。" 【把three questions当作“一个”整体，当前情况下的另一组“三个问题”】  
   We've still got another (= a further) forty miles to go.    我们还要走四十英里。 【同上面的解释】
   'It's a bill.' 'Oh no, not another!'    "这是账单。" "哦,别又来一张！"  【这里是代词，another==another+名词】
   I got another of those calls yesterday.    昨天我又接了一个那样的电话。 【这里another也是代词】
